Welcome to the 2008 Portland Football and Cheerleading Season! The team has been working very hard to create new cheers, dances, stunts and routines for every game, as well as providing a new level of excitement on the sidelines.
In July, several members of the squared attended NCA cheerleading camp in Bangor. We had many individual accomplishments with All-American Nominations going to Monica Chhum, Hong-Vy Pham, Alyssa Nielsen and Mariah Wiseman with an All-American Award going to Hong-Vy Pham. We also received a bid to Nationals once again.
Our focus for the season is to build and grow as a team. We also look forward to keeping fans on their toes, hoping to hear them cheer with us.
This year's captain is Nina Richards, with Alyssa Nielsen as assistant captains.
I'd like to thank the athletes and their families for the hard work and support they have provided throughout the year. Thank you to the PHS Administration and Boosters for their continued support of cheerleading as I enter my first year as Head Coach. I look forward to the PHS traditions along with creating many new cheering memories, and I wish the best of Luck to the football team in this upcoming season!
